Program and Admission Details
The NID DAT 2025 MDes program is highly competitive, with approximately 15,000 candidates appearing annually for the Prelims, of which only 8–10% secure final seats. The MDes program is offered at three NID campuses, with specializations including Strategic Design Management, Textile Design, and Lifestyle Accessory Design, among others. Candidates were required to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) and portfolio for each discipline during the Mains stage, with specific guidelines on file size and format.
The merit list is prepared considering the weighted scores from both stages, and in case of a tie, higher ranks are assigned based on marks in Part B of DAT Prelims, followed by Part A, and then the Studio Test. If ties persist, candidates are assigned the same rank.
Next Steps for Candidates
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NID admissions portal for updates on counseling, document verification, and additional seat allotment rounds. Those not shortlisted in Round 1 may be considered in subsequent rounds, depending on seat availability. NID also cautions applicants to use only the official website (admissions.nid.edu) for all processes, as websites with “.org” or “org.in” domains are not affiliated with NID.
For queries, candidates can contact the NID Admissions Cell at:
• Address: National Institute of Design, Paldi, Ahmedabad 380 007
• Website: admissions.nid.edu
The announcement of the MDes Mains results marks a significant milestone for design aspirants, bringing them closer to securing a seat at one of India’s premier design institutes. Candidates are urged to act promptly to meet the rechecking and seat allotment deadlines to ensure a smooth admission process.

Online Gaming Regulation in India: New Law, New Rules of Play

India’s gaming sector has grown explosively in the last decade, from casual mobile titles to real-money fantasy leagues. But the line between skill-based gaming, betting, and addiction has long been blurred. Enter the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, a landmark law that seeks to clean up, regulate, and reshape the industry. What the Act says Bans real-money betting & gambling apps that promote wagering. Encourages e-sports as a recognized category, with tax breaks and infrastructure support. Introduces age-gating and parental controls to protect minors. Mandatory registration for gaming companies, ensuring accountability. Why it matters India is the second-largest gaming market by users, but regulatory uncertainty kept investors cautious. This Act provides clarity — splitting “gaming” from “gambling.” For gamers, it could mean more tournaments, better prize pools, and career paths in e-sports. For companies, a clearer compliance […]

With generative AI writing code, drafting reports, analyzing data, and even performing creative tasks, it is easy to question what skills will remain uniquely human—and therefore, professionally valuable. Yet, despite its speed and scale, AI remains limited in fundamental ways. It lacks empathy, ethics, cultural context, and the nuanced reasoning that underpins human judgment. The future of work will not be a contest between humans and machines, but a reorientation of roles—where technology handles the repetitive and the mechanical, and humans focus on the complex, interpersonal, and moral dimensions of work. The following eight skills are expected to retain their relevance well into the next decade.
