JKBOSE Class 12 toppers 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has declared the results for the Higher Secondary Part Two (Class 12) Annual Examination 2025, reporting an overall pass percentage of 75%. Out of 1,03,308 students who appeared in the examination, 77,311 successfully passed. As per the official gazette, girls once again outshone boys, with 80% of female candidates passing the exam, compared to 69% of male candidates.
In terms of academic streams, commerce recorded the highest pass percentage at 79%, followed by science at 75%, and arts at 66%. This streamwise trend shows a notable shift toward excellence in commerce education, while the arts stream continues to pose challenges for many students.

Streamwise toppers shine across regions of Jammu and Kashmir
JKBOSE has also released the merit lists for the top-performing students across science, arts, and commerce streams. The data reveals excellent performance from government as well as private institutions, with girls making up the majority of top scorers.
Science stream merit list: Consistent excellence across genders and districts
The science stream saw several students securing above 98%, with the top scorer achieving 495 marks (99.0%). Students from both Jammu and Kashmir divisions were represented in the top ranks.
The top five ranks also included students from Sopore, Bugam, Srinagar, Udhampur, and Kupwara. Several schools, like Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Zadibal and Mallinson Girls Hr Sec School, appeared repeatedly in the list.
Arts stream merit list: A stronghold of Srinagar institutions
The arts stream was led by Areeza Javid of Green Valley Educational Institute, Srinagar, with an impressive 496 marks (99.2%), making her the highest scorer across all streams.
Notably, Srinagar-based institutions dominated the top five ranks in the arts stream, with multiple students from Govt Girls Hr Sec School, Kothibagh securing top positions.
Commerce stream merit list: A balanced presence from both public and private sectors
The commerce stream had its top scorer, Adiba, from Kashmir Harvard Higher Secondary School, Srinagar, with 495 marks (99.0%).
The presence of top-ranking students from both private and government schools across urban and semi-urban areas reflects the growing parity in commerce education.
Board praises achievers, encourages reappearing students
According to the result gazette, 30,622 students secured distinction (75% and above), 36,131 got first division (60% and above), 30,034 achieved second division (48% and above), and only 74 students passed in third division. A total of 970 students failed, while 25,027 students will have to reappear in one or more subjects.
Other statistics include 42 absentees, 30 cancellations, 24 disputed eligibility cases, and 3 disqualifications.
JKBOSE Chairman Shantmanu, IAS, congratulated all the successful candidates for their achievement. He also encouraged those who need to reappear, urging them to focus and prepare well for the supplementary examinations.
