JEE Main 2025 session 2 results declared: 24 students secure perfect 100 percentile; check cut-offs here
NTA announces Jee Main 2025 results, check cut-off and top scorers

JEE Main 2025 Session 2 results: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 (April session) for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.). Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access their scorecards through the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. This year, the examination witnessed extraordinary performances, with 24 candidates scoring a perfect 100 percentile, underscoring the intense level of preparation and competition among engineering aspirants.
These high scorers hail from various states across India, including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the pan-India nature of the examination. Interestingly, among these top achievers, two are female candidates—a notable development given the traditionally male-dominated field of engineering entrance tests.
Overview of JEE Main 2025 Examination Structure and Participation
The JEE Main 2025 examination was conducted in two sessions—the first in January 2025 and the second in April 2025. This dual-session structure offers students an opportunity to improve their performance and allows for the best score to be considered in the final merit list.
Across both sessions, a massive 15,39,848 unique candidates registered, out of which 14,75,103 candidates appeared, indicating a high level of participation and commitment among aspirants. For those who appeared in both sessions, the best score out of the two was considered while calculating the final NTA percentile.
Session 2 Exam Conduct and Attendance: 93.5% Turnout
The Session 2 (April 2025) examination was conducted from April 2 to April 8, across nine shifts. The exam was held at 531 centres located in 300 cities, which also included 15 international cities—demonstrating the global reach and relevance of the JEE Main for Indian students abroad.
Out of the 10,61,840 candidates who registered for this session, an impressive 9,92,350 candidates actually appeared, resulting in an overall attendance rate of approximately 93.5%. Each day’s shift saw a consistently high turnout, with many shifts crossing 94% attendance—a testament to the dedication of the students and the smooth execution of the examination process by the NTA.

Here’s a breakdown of the attendance per day and shift:
Day 1 (April 2): Over 2.17 lakh candidates were scheduled, with over 92% attendance in both shifts.
Day 2 (April 3): Similar numbers and a slight improvement in attendance, especially in the second shift, which reached 93.49%.
Day 3 (April 4): Attendance peaked at over 94%, highlighting growing momentum and enthusiasm.
Day 4 (April 7): Again, attendance remained robust with more than 94% of students attending the second shift.
Day 5 (April 8): Only one shift was conducted, but it maintained the trend with over 94% attendance.
Spotlight on the 24 Toppers: States and Gender Diversity
Among the 24 candidates who secured a perfect 100 NTA score, Rajasthan emerged as the frontrunner with seven students from the state achieving this feat. This continues Rajasthan’s legacy of producing top engineering talent. Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh also had strong representations, followed by West Bengal, Telangana, Gujarat, and Karnataka.
What’s especially heartening this year is the representation of female students in the 100 percentile club. Devdutta Majhi from West Bengal and Sai Manogna Guthikonda from Andhra Pradesh made it to this elite list, showcasing the growing gender diversity in STEM fields.
Here are a few of the top scorers:
• Archisman Nandy and Devdutta Majhi from West Bengal

Security Measures and Fairness Initiatives by NTA
To ensure the sanctity of the examination process, the NTA deployed state-of-the-art security mechanisms, making JEE Main 2025 one of the most secure national-level exams.
These included:
• Artificial Intelligence-based remote video surveillance
• Live CCTV monitoring at all centres
• Biometric verification for identity confirmation
• Use of 5G signal jammers to block unauthorized communication
• Engagement of virtual observers to monitor exam halls in real-time
To ensure smooth operations, over 1,100 officials were specially trained, and 858 observers along with 283 city coordinators were stationed across the centres.
Despite these efforts, 110 candidates were caught using unfair means, and their results have been withheld. Additionally, the results of 23 candidates were put on hold due to discrepancies in identity verification.
Gender and Category-wise Participation in Session 2
• The participation breakdown by category and gender gives insight into the reach and inclusivity of JEE Main:
• General category saw over 4 lakh registrations, with nearly 3.72 lakh appearing.
• OBC-NCL candidates had high representation as well, with almost 3 lakh registered, and more than 3.74 lakh appearing.
• Female candidates accounted for a significant portion of test-takers across all categories.
Next Steps for Aspirants
With Paper 1 results now out, candidates can download their scorecards from the official portal. The results for Paper 2A (B.Arch.) and 2B (B.Planning) will be declared separately.
Students who meet the cut-off percentile should begin preparations for JEE Advanced 2025, the next and final hurdle for admission into India’s top engineering institutes, including the IITs.

Designing Thug Life: Amritha Ram on Styling Kamal Haasan

Costume design in Indian cinema often dances between fantasy and realism. But in Thug Life, Amritha Ram collaborates with cinematic icons Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam to craft a fashion-forward yet character-driven wardrobe that breaks norms. In an exclusive with ETimes, Amritha reveals how meticulous planning, storytelling, and visual language drove her designs. Tip 1: Collaboration Is the Key to Vision When asked what excited her most about working on Thug Life, Amritha simply said, “Two names: Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam.” The sheer reputation of these legends shaped her approach. Mani Ratnam was clear about the film’s visual tone—stripping away Bollywood glamor for something minimalistic yet powerful. “Mani sir guided me all the way. He knew exactly what he wanted,” she shared. Working with Kamal, who understands fabric, dyeing, and even costume history, was a learning curve. His feedback […]
