Diddy trial: Sean Combs’ ex-girlfriend in sex-trafficking case; says initial ‘passionate nights’ opened ‘Pandora’s box’

A former girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs testified on Thursday about the evolution of their relationship, which began as a passionate affair but, according to her, turned into a series of unwanted and coercive voyeuristic encounters. Her account follows Combs’ recent apprehension on sex-trafficking and racketeering charges.Identified only as “Jane” and granted anonymity by the court, the witness described how what started as consensual intimacy eventually became something she could not escape.“It was a door that I was unable to shut for the remainder of the relationship,” she said, according to the New York Times.Jane said their private interactions were initially “passionate”. But the tone shifted when Combs brought her to a Miami hotel suite, where staff had prepared the space with crimson lighting and refreshments. She recalled one encounter involving an escort service provider, during which Combs watched. Although she found the experience exciting and unconventional at first, she said Combs began arranging similar encounters more frequently.“I truly felt that that night opened a Pandora’s box,” she recounted.Jane’s testimony marks a significant development in the federal case against Combs, following earlier allegations made by Casandra Ventura, also known as Cassie, his former girlfriend of 11 years. Ventura’s accusations of physical and sexual abuse helped launch the criminal investigation into Combs.Jane described drug-influenced sexual encounters with male escorts in hotel rooms across the country. According to her, furniture in the rooms was often covered in linens to protect against excessive baby oil. She testified that Combs frequently watched and engaged in self-gratification while she was with the escorts.The prosecution alleges that both Ventura and Jane were forced into these scenarios through a combination of physical violence, financial manipulation, and threats involving recorded footage of the encounters. Prosecutors argue that Combs orchestrated each situation in detail.Jane also revealed she became financially dependent on Combs after receiving significant monetary gifts and rental assistance.Her testimony began with a description of their initial meeting in late 2020 in Miami, where she was traveling with an acquaintance romantically involved with Combs. She went on to describe the beginning of their private relationship, which included private jet travel, use of ecstasy and ketamine, and prolonged intimate encounters. According to Jane, Combs also controlled what she wore- typically revealing lingerie and stilettos.
