The tit for tat between the United States of America (USA) and China continues. In continuation with the same, China has announced an export ban on 12 American companies. In a statement, China’s Ministry of Commerce, said, “In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Export Control Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Export Control of Dual-Use Items, and in order to safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, it is decided to include 12 US entities including American Photonics Corporation in the export control list.”
The commerce ministry’s statement further added, “This means that: One, the export of dual-use items to the above-mentioned 12 US companies is prohibited; any related export activities currently underway should be stopped immediately. Two, if export is really necessary under special circumstances, the export operator shall apply to the Ministry of Commerce.”
Here are the names of the 12 American companies banned by China under its new export restrictions:

* Marvin Engineering Company, Inc.
* Exovera
* Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc
* BRINC Drones, Inc.

* Domo Tactical Communications
* Insitu, Inc.
China increases tariff on US imports to 84%
Earlier today, China announced that it will raise its tariff rate on all imports from the US from 34% to 84%, effective from 12:01 p.m. on April 10. “The US’s practice of escalating tariffs on China is a mistake on top of a mistake, which seriously infringes on China’s legitimate rights and interests and seriously damages the rules-based multilateral trading system,” said China’s State Council Tariff Commission in a statement.
The Commission said, “In accordance with the Tariff Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Foreign Trade Law of the People’s Republic of China and other laws and regulations and the basic principles of international law, and with the approval of the State Council, starting at 12:01 on April 10, 2025, the tariff increase measures on imported goods originating from the United States will be adjusted. The relevant matters are as follows:
1. Adjust the additional tariff rate stipulated in the “Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on the Imposition of Additional Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating in the United States” from 34% to 84%.
2. Other matters shall be implemented in accordance with the Tax Committee Announcement No. 4 of 2025.”
