[ad_1] KOCHI: The IMD issued a red alert for 11 districts in Kerala on Monday. All districts, except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha, are on alert for extremely heavy rainfall of more than 20cm in 24 hours, while the three districts are on orange alert.Squally weather with wind speeds of 35-45kmph, gusting to 55kmph, is prevailing along and off the Kerala coasts. The coasts are on high alert as INCOIS issued a red-level alert for high wave warnings for Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kannur, Kasaragod, Kollam, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Thrissur coastal areas. High waves in the range of 3.3 to 4 meters are forecast on Monday.
