The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has declared the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025 results on April 25. A total of 22,313 students appeared, of which 16,771 have qualified, recording a pass percentage of 75.16%. Government schools registered a modest 48.41% pass rate, while private schools performed significantly better at 87.64%. The official gazette and merit list are now available on the NBSE portal, nbsenl.edu.in.
Lungyihangle Nring tops HSLC 2025
Lungyihangle Nring of St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur emerged as the state topper, scoring 592 marks with an impressive 98.67%. He also received the NBSE Topper Award, the Governor’s Gold Medal, and the Mayangnokcha Award for Academic Excellence. The second position was shared by three candidates with 98%, while several others followed closely, including top scorers from Kohima, Chumoukedima, and Mokokchung.
District-wise, Kohima recorded the highest pass percentage at 87.58%, followed by Chumoukedima (83.43%) and Mokokchung (80.64%). Mon, Tuensang, and Longleng showed improvement but remained below the state average.

Students can check their HSLC 2025 result by following these steps:
Step 1. Visit the official NBSE website, nbsenl.edu.in.
Step 2. Click on the ‘HSLC 2025 Result’ link.
Step 3. Enter your roll number and other required credentials.
Step 4. Download and print the mark sheet for future reference.

NBSE HSLC Result 2025: What’s next?
Mark sheet distribution for schools will begin on May 2, 2025. Students applying for rescrutiny must do so by May 10 through the NBSE portal, with a fee of INR 500 per subject. The HSLC Compartmental and Improvement Examinations 2025 will be held in June, and applications will be accepted from May 12 to 17, 2025.
Candidates must submit their original admit cards and mark sheets to their schools during this process. The board has also enabled the Migration Certificate download facility on its portal for students seeking admission elsewhere.
