Victoria Monét’s New Album Is a Beautiful Reminder to Tune Into Love’s Frequency

If you haven’t heard yet, Victoria Monét just gave the world a 22-track gift called Frequency of Love, and honestly, the timing feels like more than coincidence. The three-time GRAMMY winner dropped the album this week through Lovett Music/RCA, stacked with features from SZA, Bruno Mars, Leon Thomas, Bryson Tiller, Lucky Daye, Chlöe, and even her own daughter, Hazel Monét. It’s the kind of release that reminds you why music still matters: it’s not just something you stream in the background, it’s something that can shift the way you walk through your day.

There’s something to that title that’s worth sitting with for a second. Frequency of Love. Not “the idea of love” or “a love song” — a frequency. Something you tune into, on purpose, like turning a dial until the static clears and the signal comes through. That’s such a good way to think about love, and honestly about good energy in general. It’s not always something that just happens to you. Sometimes you have to decide to tune in.

The album built itself one honest moment at a time

Monét didn’t just show up with this album out of nowhere. She’s been laying the groundwork all year — “Let Me” climbed all the way to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart back in June, and “Reach Out” and “Juicy” kept the momentum going right up to release week. That’s a pretty good metaphor on its own: the big, satisfying thing rarely arrives all at once. It’s usually the result of a bunch of smaller releases, smaller wins, smaller moments of showing up, stacked on top of each other until one day you look up and there’s a whole body of work.

If you’re in the middle of your own “smaller releases” right now — the unglamorous, in-between parts of a goal — consider this your reminder that they count. They’re not the warm-up to the real thing. They are the real thing.

Love, but make it actionable

Here’s the part of this story that actually made us pause: Monét isn’t just singing about love, she’s funding it. Alongside the album, she launched The Frequency of Love Foundation, a youth-focused initiative built around education, wellness, food, agriculture, and culinary arts. When her Frequency of Love Tour kicks off October 27 in Raleigh and runs through December 17 in San Francisco, fans can add just $1 at checkout to support community garden programs for kids.

A single dollar. That’s it. And yet multiplied across a packed tour, that’s real gardens, real meals, real kids learning where food comes from and that someone thought they were worth investing in.

It’s a really good nudge for the rest of us: love doesn’t have to be a grand gesture to count. It can be a dollar. A text you finally send. Showing up for the people who love you back. The frequency doesn’t need to be loud to be real — it just needs to be on.

So, what are you broadcasting today?

Maybe you’re not dropping a 22-track album this week (give it time). But you are putting something out into the world every single day — through your mood, your words, the way you treat the person at the coffee counter, the energy you bring into a room. Monét’s whole project is basically one big, generous reminder that you get to choose your frequency. You can tune into scarcity, comparison, and burnout, or you can tune into love, generosity, and showing up for people, even in small ways.

Put on “Let Me” or “Reach Out,” let the bassline do its thing, and ask yourself honestly: what station have you been tuned to lately? If it’s not the one you want, today’s as good a day as any to turn the dial.

Why October Feels Like a Second New Year (And How to Actually Use It)

If your feed has been full of people making new goal lists, cleaning out their closets, and swearing off their summer bad habits this week, you've met the "October theory," and it's having a real moment on TikTok right now. Here's the idea in a nutshell: October 1st works like a second New Year's Day. We spend January 1st loaded down with resolutions, most of which quietly dissolve by February. But October hits differently. The air changes, the light gets softer, and something in us just wants to shed what isn't working — like the trees do. Psychotherapist Brianna Paruolo, who's been quoted on the trend, put it beautifully: autumn "often sparks a natural inclination for transformation," the same way trees let go of their leaves without […]

What AI can’t replace: Building 8 human skills that will still matter a decade later

[ad_1] As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries and redefine job roles, there is growing concern among students and early-career professionals about their place in the workforce of the future. With generative AI writing code, drafting reports, analyzing data, and even performing creative tasks, it is easy to question what skills will remain uniquely human—and therefore, professionally valuable. Yet, despite its speed and scale, AI remains limited in fundamental ways. It lacks empathy, ethics, cultural context, and the nuanced reasoning that underpins human judgment. The future of work will not be a contest between humans and machines, but a reorientation of roles—where technology handles the repetitive and the mechanical, and humans focus on the complex, interpersonal, and moral dimensions of work. The following eight skills are expected to retain their relevance well into the next decade. For students and professionals alike, […]
