IndiGo CEO backs government policy as Emirates seeks more seats

[ad_1] NEW DELHI: As Indian carriers prepare to increase their share in international airtravel in and out of the country, India's largest airline IndiGo has reacted sharply to Emirates' long-standing demand for more flying rights for Dubai."First of all, it's called a bilateral agreement, right? That means two sides have to agree on something. If one side makes more and more noise, it doesn't mean you're more and more right. It's not that if one side says, 'now we do it' - that's not how it works," IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said at the IATA AGM on Monday, without naming Emirates. On Sunday, Emirates Airlines president Tim Clark said: "We've been stuck with 65,000 seats in each direction (Dubai-India and vice-versa) for just over 11 years now. Fifteen years ago, the population to Dubai was about 25 lakh. This is over […]

US heat alert! Why summer 2025 could be the most dangerous in decades according to NOAA | World News

[ad_1] As meteorological summer officially begins on June 1, 2025, the United States is preparing for what may become one of its hottest summers in recorded history. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued an alarming seasonal outlook through its Climate Prediction Center (CPC), forecasting significantly above-average temperatures across nearly the entire country, as per The Economic Times report. [ad_1] Liver diseases are a major global health concern. Dr. Eric Berg warns that hard liquor poses the greatest threat to liver health. It is more dangerous than sugary drinks or even beer and wine. Trump asks Supreme Court to overrule lower court block on mass federal layoffs

[ad_1] Donald Trump administration on Monday filed an emergency request asking the US supreme court to let it move forward with wide-ranging layoffs and agency closures. The request comes as a lower court has put the brakes on the administration’s efforts to reduce federal jobs and shut down various programmes. The justice department urged the court to lift the pause placed by US district judge Susan Illston, who ruled that labour unions, nonprofit groups, and city governments are likely to succeed in their legal challenge, reported USA Today. Judge Illston’s order temporarily blocks the termination of tens of thousands of jobs and the shutdown of regional offices. The administration argues that the president, as head of the executive branch, does not require Congressional approval to make staffing decisions. It called the judge’s reasoning “indefensible” and claimed the ruling prevents the […]
