The restrictions came into effect Saturday night. A total curfew was enforced in Bishnupur district, while the other four districts —Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, and Thoubal — issued prohibitory orders limiting gatherings to below five people and banning weapons and firearms. These measures were implemented under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
