The White House has jumped into a viral internet trend, the bizarre “100 men vs one gorilla” meme using it to highlight US President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement record.
In a post shared Thursday on X, the official White House account posted a meme featuring an image of several immigrants boarding a plane alongside a photo of Trump.
“100 men vs 1 gorilla is still up for debate. Meanwhile, 142,000+ illegal alien criminals went up against 1 President Trump — They all got deported,” they posted on X.
The post highlighted Trump’s US immigration record.
Based on the ICE report covering the initial 100 days of Trump’s second presidential term, the agency arrested 66,463 individuals without proper documentation. ICE carried out deportations of 65,682 people, with a significant portion having substantial criminal backgrounds.
The agency cited 9,639 assault charges, 6,398 driving under the influence (DUI) offenses, and 1,479 weapons violations among those detained.
“We’re just 100 days into this administration and thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is using every tool at its disposal to enforce our country’s immigration laws and protect our communities,” said Acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons.
The viral debate started on April 24 when X user Michael Sherrills asked a strange question: “Could 100 unarmed, average men defeat one adult male gorilla in a fight?”
What began as a random post quickly turned into a trending internet topic, with people creating memes, polls, and joining in heated discussions.
YouTuber MrBeast jumped in by sharing a fake video thumbnail titled “100 Men vs. a Gorilla,” joking, “Need 100 men to test this, any volunteers?”
Elon Musk also joined the fun, replying, “Sure, what’s the worst that could happen?”
